These daffodils that began opening yesterday, and I photographed today, were not the first flowers to blossom at our farm.
Earlier this week I spotted these coltsfoot blossoms.
Although coltsfoot is usually thought of as a weed, this wild plant is edible and offers medicinal properties. Check out this link http://www.ediblewildfood.com/coltsfoot.aspx to learn more about it.
Lastly I will leave you with a photo of these beautiful pansies that my husband rescued for me 🙂 from work today.
It would have been tragic to let these beauties die when they can instead make somebody smile.

Isn’t it wonderful! We see the same flowers every spring yet it feels like the first time ever when they finally bloom. Every year I take pictures and post them on FB.

I suppose that is the good thing about winter. If the flowers bloomed year round we would probably not appreciate them as much. 🙂

Absolute pleasure Ruth, l know what you mean .. l changed the way l handle them because of the time factors as well as other things that slightly irked me about them.

The pansies are so bright and beautiful – a homeowner on the next block always has the yellow and purple combo and if it ever stop raining I’m going to take a picture of them. Your daffodils look cheery as well. Happy Easter Ruth – put those daffs in a vase on your holiday table.

The pansies certainly brighten things up. I love daffodils – I always think Yellow is a happy color – it makes me smile – so having them blossom when everything else is gray or brown is lovely.

Our home has become the flower orphanage. He collects all of the unwanted flowers and brings them home and we care for them until we find adoptive homes for them. 🙂 ♥

We have coltsfoot on the mountain at the cabin. Interesting link , I like that soaking the blooms in honey could help a cough. I’ll have to remember to try it

Coltsfoot is one of the herbs I haven’t tried yet. It blossoms early but seems to be gone quickly.
