Since the article that I shared yesterday included using elderberry to boost the immune system, and I frequently do this during cold and flu season, I felt it imperative that I share the following article which explains that elderberry may be harmful or even deadly when fighting COVID-19. I will be putting my elderberry away for now – better safe then sorry.

Please be safe.
Good to know! I hope it’s still ok to take Oil of Oregano!

I didn’t see oil of oregano listed as either good or bad. I guess it would depend on how it works. If it works by increasing cytokines then it would be best to avoid.

Thanks for the tip – I didn’t have any elderberry and trying not to venture out for any reason, so did not buy any.

Thanks for posting that Ruth! I touched briefly on cytokine storm in my recent literary salon post about the 1918 pandemic as being a critical factor in the deaths of the younger healthy adults.

Thank you for sharing! It’s scary because what if you have the virus and you don’t know right away? I’m also seeing that ibuprofen might be bad to take, too.

Hi Michelle. The more I read the scarier it gets – I am afraid the having a strong immune system can be dangerous in this case so I will be posting a retraction to my motherly advice.

You’re welcome Anne. It seems to be a popular herb – we all need to be careful.
