Today’s weather was a repeat of yesterday, but when my husband went to the farm with the kids dogs I stayed at the house to get some chores done. The sunshine was so inviting I slipped on my flip flops and stepped out on the deck to see if it was as warm as it looked. It was pleasant enough that I decided to finish clearing the snow from the deck, any excuse to spend a few minutes in the sunshine. As I moved the heavy, wet snow with the shovel it formed chunks, “packing snow” I thought, “great for making snowmen.”
I haven’t made a snowman in years decades, but I just couldn’t let this snow go to waste.
I piled the snow on the table in a snowman-like shape, but when I added the pebbles for the eyes and a nose I realized I created a snowdog.
When my husband got home I introduced him to our snowdog. Then he joined in the fun.
“I gave him a tail,” he announced. (No wonder he didn’t realize it was a dog.)
It’s said there is a first time for everything and whether that’s true or not, this is certainly the first time I have ever made a snowman or snowdog while wearing flip flops. LOL!
Thanks for visiting.
When was the last time you made a snowman?
I can imagine you in flip flops making a snowman … some of these snowfalls we’ve had recently, by afternoon, the snow has kind of just faded away. At least you didn’t have to make your snowdog a quilt to stay warm – the sun did that all on its own!

The poor puppy was melting as I was making him. It looked like he was crying as the snow melted around his eyes. I’m hoping we have now turned the corner – I moved my pansies outside today. 🙂

Yes, a nice afternoon sun would melt that poor puppy. I hope we’ve turned a corner too – today was a beautiful day, no dusting to worry if there is ice underneath the snow. I hated to come home with that sun shining so brightly.

I absolutely saw the dog from the first picture.
Sounds like you had some fun! I have not built a snowman (or a snowdog) in a while (ever). Those sunny moments in the sun are so precious!

It was funny that the dog suddenly appeared once I added eyes and nose. I am glad that I took pictures and recorded this simple but fun moment.

Fun times Ruth!
I made a little snowman when I was in Colorado last summer!
My best friends parents brought me some snow down from the mountains, and we made a little snowman out of it! 🙂
