These are all great pictures Ruth. Summer at its finest. Seems like just a few weeks ago they were tadpoles – now it’s a big frog (unless that’s a bullfrog and it’s the daddy). I never am able to get dragonfly picture. Once, one dragonfly was on the ground and it looked stunned or sick or something, so I was able to take a photo. The flowers are pretty too but my favorite shot is the cute baby Killdeer snuggled together.
That frog is most likely a mommy or daddy to those tadpoles. 🙂 We have a lot of dragonflies at the farm, but I have a hard time getting pics too. When I saw this one just sitting on the ground, I thought it was injured or dead because it didn’t move. I took a few pictures then it just flew away. I was happy to see that.
That was the last time I saw the killdeer chicks. By the next day they were gone. I think they are in the field next door because I occasionally see or hear the parents. I hope they are all ok.
It’s been a while since I brought home tadpoles (at least six decades) but I didn’t think they grew THAT fast. 🙂 I love dragonflies – they are so delicate. You were lucky to get that one. I hope they are okay in this heat. They at least have access to water from your pond so I hope they are doing okay in this heat too. They were adorable all clustered together like that.
Sum-sum-summertime! Great pictures! Love the frog!

Thanks, Nancy. I was delighted to get that frog picture. 🙂 They usually dip under the water before I can take a picture.

We have so many frogs, but rarely do they sit still for a picture.
