Monthly Inspiration and More

Hello and welcome. I know it’s been quiet around the blog lately. I didn’t even post a monthly inspiration yet. So, let’s start there. I just learned that February 17 is Random Acts of Kindness Day.

I’m not going to ask if you plan to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day and how because I think having it planned would mean it’s not really random. Instead, I would encourage random acts of kindness whenever the opportunity arises.

β€œHow do we change the world? One random act of kindness at a time.”
β€” Morgan Freeman

The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention.” -Khalil Gibran

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” – Aesop

February 17 is also our wedding anniversary. We are celebrating 18 years of marriage this year. Our plan is to do some car shopping as we need to replace our minivan (puppymobile). We have been doing a lot of searching online and have looked at a couple of vehicles at dealerships but have yet to find what we are looking for. We will be buying used and are thinking of an SUV type vehicle. We do not need anything fancy. We just hope we can find something reliable. If you have ever owned a SUV that you loved, please tell us what it was and what you loved about it. It might also be helpful if you have had an SUV that was not a good vehicle if you share that information as well.

Thanks for any help you can give, and I’ll let you know if we find something.

Monthly Inspiration

Hello and Happy New Year!

In our home 2025 crept in quietly while we were sleeping last night. We were happy to celebrate its arrival this morning with a breakfast of mushroom-cheese omelet, American fries, bacon and toast.

For me this was a wonderful way to start the new year – low-key, simple, uneventful, at home with my husband and our dogs. Now if the rest of the year will follow suit…πŸ˜€

To start off the year I selected this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson – β€œWrite it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.”

I’m also inviting you to share an inspirational message, favorite quote, or verse, with me and my readers in to comments section below. I hope to hear from you.

Thanks for visiting.

Hello and welcome! I’m glad you stopped by for our last ‘Monthly Inspiration” of 2024.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~ John F. Kennedy

Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world. ~ Desmond Tutu

Monthly Inspiration

Hello and welcome.

Let me start by apologizing for my long absence from the blog. I won’t give a bunch of excuses for not writing because honestly the many things that have kept my mind occupied and body busy over the last several weeks have not necessarily prevented me from blogging. I will say that I plan to start posting again on a more regular basis.

Even though it’s way late in the month I don’t want to skip our monthly inspiration, mostly because in the many trials our family has experienced over the past several weeks, I have found myself repeatedly thanking God for His love, for his goodness and for answered prayers. I’m also sharing these verses because next week we, in the USA, celebrate our Thanksgiving holiday.

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings. ~ William Arthur Ward

Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for. ~ Zig Ziglar

18Β give thanks in all circumstances;Β for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 New International Version

Thanks for visiting. What are you thankful for today?

Monthly Inspiration

Hello and welcome. A new month is upon us and when my husband asked me if I was working on my Monthly Inspiration post I admitted that I was struggling with it. It seems the news of the past few days (devastation caused by hurricane/tropical storm Helene, wars, and more) has been weighing on me and I was having a hard time finding uplifting words to inspire myself and share with you. I asked my husband if he had any ideas, and he offered up this scripture that we often find comforting.

Do Not Worry

Mattew 6:25-34

25 β€œTherefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28 β€œAnd why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe youβ€”you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, β€˜What shall we eat?’ or β€˜What shall we drink?’ or β€˜What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I also received an email from my sister that contained a link to a devotional that started with the following scripture. It was most appropriate.

Psalm 55:22

β€œCast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” –

Lastly, I also found inspiration when I came across the following Psalm.

Psalm 46:1-3

1.β€œGod is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.

2. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,

3. though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling…”

If the worries of the world are weighing on you, I do hope you can find comfort in these scriptures.

Thanks for visiting.
