I have to start with a huge THANK YOU to everyone reading this. When I first started writing this blog, about two and a half years ago, I never imagined it would be what it has become. I figured I might have a few people who would read it regularly – friends and family that know and love me. For quite a while that was the case. Occasionally I would look at my stats and see that no one had viewed my blog for several days and I wondered if it was worth writing, then a friend or family member would mention how much they enjoyed reading it. That was all I needed to inspire me to keep writing.

I have to come back and read all the other links you’ve provided us Ruth. I was fascinated to see a doe and her fawn at Hines Park today. First the one last week at Lake Erie MetroPark, but these languished there until the bicyclist got too close. I’ve seen red-winged blackbirds attack robins and their nest and also last year, one attacked a Canada goose!

The deer have gotten so used to us (and our even Trooper) that we can often get within twenty feet or so before they run off.

That is amazing Ruth. My friend lives in a woodsy area in rural New York. She’ll look out to see the deer standing on two legs and raiding the bird feeder or sometimes a group of them relaxing in her backyard. I would like to see that.

So glad you enjoyed our walk. Our house is in a manufactured home community about a 1 1/2 miles from the farm. It’s very convenient.

That’s great that you live nearby. We live in a modular house — two units put together at right angles. It seems normal enough, but the wiring is crazy.
