We once had a nest of bunnies in our strawberry patch. We would be picking berries and with little bunnies hopping around. They were adorable and thankfully didn’t eat all of the berries.
I’m not sure where these killdeers hatched but they have been hanging around the garden area for a couple of weeks.
We now have a killdeer sitting on a nest right in the middle of the driveway and another on a nest in a portion of the garden that we are not using this year. It seems our farm has become a killdeer kingdom. π
We started getting our potato garden ready and disturbed a nest of baby bunnies! Now we waitβ¦

What fun! We were traveling one time when I saw some kill deer close enough to identify them.

My eyes are poor and my phone screen tiny. Could you tell me what kind of birds they are?

They are killdeer -probably about two or three weeks old. Not flying yet. Just run around like crazy.

Ha ha – with those long legs they won’t even touch the greenery as they walk through the potato patch.

They are so cute running around and it’s probably good to have them in the garden. They eat a lot of bugs – hopefully the bad ones, π

Those long legs and how they run just kill me Ruth. Let them eat all the bugs they can to keep your crops healthy!
