That’s a pretty Purple Spotted Ruth. I had one on my car gas tank last Sunday. I took the car for a short spin as I’d not driven it in about a week and parked in the driveway and saw it when I went to open the garage. I did not have my camera – it stayed on the car for a good two minutes while I debated running into the house for the camera.
Ah, one of those missed photos. I know how that goes. We have a lot of the purple spotted around here. The last few weeks we have had a lot of those little butterflies, the orange and black, the white, some yellow, some light purple. They like to hang around the beach. Often too many to count – 20 or 30 maybe. It is fun to watch.
You are lucky seeing that many butterflies Ruth. I felt badly I missed it. And, it was perfect, not a tatter. I think it wanted to be admired and/or photographed as it didn’t move for all that time.
Fun butterflies! Fun beach day for you. And now also for us. Great Beach vibes. Thanks!

Yes! The birds and butterflies are really enjoying the beach during this hot/dry weather. It’s fun to see them.

So beautiful. We often see butterflies by puddles and on wet sand near the waterfalls here in the mountains. Its always a joy to watch them 🦋

They do drink from the wet soil or sand. It’s fun to see them fluttering around.
