Monthly Inspiration

Hello and Welcome. March has arrived and we are headed into my favorite season. Despite the sunshine March came in like a Lion, with high winds and below freezing temperatures. We are forecast to have warmer days this coming week, which means we’re heading in the right direction. ๐Ÿ˜€ But while we await spring, I will share some “spring” quotes with you.

“No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn.” โ€“ Hal Borland

“In the Spring, I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24 hours.” โ€“ Mark Twain

“Despite the forecast, live like it’s spring.” โ€“ Lilly Pulitzer

โ€œWherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.โ€ โ€• Anthony J. Dโ€™Angelo

“In winter, I plot and plan. In spring, I move.” โ€“ Henry Rollins

“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.” โ€“Margaret Atwood

“Garden as though you will live forever.” โ€“ William Kent

“Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.” โ€“ Doug Larson

“Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s Party!'” โ€“ Robin Williams

Lastly if you want to quote me, I say, “Spring – Bring it on!!!”๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒท

Thanks for visiting.

  1. Early spring (and late fall) in the Ohio Valley offer much variety–from temps below freezing to above 60, accompanied by sunshine or clouds, rain, sleet, or snow. Personally, I like the assortment of weather! ‘Also like that D’Angelo quote. We can always add a sunshine-attitude to our days!

    1. Your weather is much like ours here in Michigan and we are in that season where it is bouncing all over the place. I have to admit that I don’t like the cold anymore, so I haven’t been out as much as I’d like too. I do like being and working outdoors so I really looking forward to the warmup forecast for next week.

    1. Thanks Nancy and thanks for visiting. Spring sure does seem to be taking it’s time getting here. I guess we will appreciate it all the more when it comes. Happy March to you as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I am definitely feeling spring fever. I have seen lots of green popping up. I divided up my rhubarb but it is to early to do much more than that. All the quotes ring true but I really like the Margaret Atwood quote. I am more than ready to set aside my crafting addiction, for trips to the greenhouse and lots of playing in the dirt !

  3. I think our trusty weather prognosticator, Woody at the Howell Nature Center, has dropped the ball this year. We did not have a wonderful February and we’re starting off cold and windy for March. Are any of your bulb flowers up yet Ruth? I like this quote best as it is spot-on for our state:

โ€œIn the Spring, I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24 hours.โ€ โ€“ Mark Twain

      1. I don’t have bulbs planted, but I don’t see anything coming up in Marge’s garden. Years ago she planted bulbs for all the early bloomers along our shared fenceline, so I always see some color by March. I think Mark Twain nailed it for Michigan weather – if you don’t like it, wait and it will change shortly.
