Psalm 23
A Psalm of David.
1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
As I read the headlines and wonder where this world is headed this scripture comes to mind. I find comfort in these words. Perhaps you will as well.
A great choice of photo to pair with the psalm. And yes, it does calm me down and gives me solace.

We need something to steady our nerves, and if it is scripture, then we are better for reading it instead of the horrific headlines out there.

Yes Linda. The news these days is scary but I can’t live my life in fear. This scripture reminds me that I don’t need to.

You are very correct Ruth – I think I listen to the news too much. It both riles me up as well as unsettles me.
