It’s so easy to let little things that happen stress us out, put us in a bad mood and even ruin our entire day. My husband and I often use the phrase “If this is the worst thing that happens today…” to overcome this by reminding us that life is good and that we are truly blessed.
We have a few different ways that we might finish the sentence.
They are:
If this is the worst thing that happens today then life is good!
If this is the worst thing that happens today then we are blessed!
If this is the worst thing that happens today then Praise God!
Thanks for reading and remember gratitude will change your attitude. 🙂
The hibiscus is beautiful Ruth, just as beautiful as your sentiments. I have never heard of the expression “gratitude will change your attitude” – those are good words to live by.

Thank you Linda. That picture is actually from last year. My red hibiscus are blossoming but the pinks haven’t opened up yet. They tend to start flowering a little later than the red.
My dad used to say that to us when we were teens. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized how true it is.

I remember you told me about the hibiscus last year when I didn’t know the name of the flower I saw on my walk. I had hibiscus one time, but there were much smaller and it was in a pot so a miniature. There were two of them and my neighbor used to take them at her house for the Winter. She had a doorwall and it was a sunny spot. Then she got a dog that needed to get in/out the doorwall (she never went on the deck in Winter before) and they did not do well in my basement.

Beautiful hibiscus picture. Just stepping back for a moment to take a break, take a walk, dig in the dirt will usually lift my mood almost immediately. I truly believe nature heals.

It does indeed! Don’t forget to get your bare feet on the ground. 🙂

I like the ending of your sentences. I’m going to try this when things go wrong.
